Is there a better way for the U.S. to insure our continued "support" in the Middle East than to help continue the conflicts?

Turbulent times have plagued the region for years and the level of violence continues to escalate with each passing day. How can the U.S. possibly improve the situation? The Bush administration seems to believe shipping ungodly amounts of weaponry to an unstable area is the answer. Fighting has always worked for us, why not pass the torch?

A monstrous motive appears so clearly; if one group fails to completely kill off the other, the savior of the world, the U.S., will jump at the advantage to save the day. The Bush administration is practically begging for an opportunity to help out when the inevitable violence will begin to occur, essentially going to fight against some of the weapons originally supplied by our own military.

I don't think the U.S. can be any more obvious about wanting to shape the future of the rest of the world when its choosing sides in a battle across the globe. I hate to throw a low blow and bring up the whole Nazi comparison, but I'm doing it anyway... If I recall correctly, the Arabs aren't exactly fond of the Jewish state of Israel (who is quite worried about this arms deal, naturally). So what's this multi-billion dollar exchange besides picking favorites in a dogmatic battle.

I don't even know anymore... my speculations await the almost certainly grim future.

Linked Story From CNN.com: http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/07/28/saudi.arms/index.html
